My name is Lane Hoffer, I am the creator and founder of the 701 crew, Bismarck, ND. I am sending this press release to you to inform you about 701 crew and what we do, as well as sending you information on an event that will be taking place in Mandan, ND on March 26th, 2011. Thank you for taking the time to review this information.
I have been involved in the local, independent music scene since 2002, having over 9 years of experience in booking and promoting local, national, and international music artists. I have booked bands for everything from small basement shows to all day festivals. And have worked with bands who’s genres include anything from pop punk to grind core. I started my career volunteering my time to local promoters. Working to hang fliers around town and helping to get the word out to the public about upcoming shows. In December 2003 I made the decision to go it alone, and with that, started the Grind Your Face Off festivals that would jump start my career as a successful promoter. Between the years of December 2003-June 2006 I promoted 6 Grind Your Face Off festivals. In attendance was more then 2,700 people, with the average GYFO event bringing in roughly 500 spectators. I booked more then 113 bands for the festivals including: Dispensing of False Halos, Skarp (Seattle, WA), Entrails Massacre (Germany) , To What End? (Sweden), and Epitaph Records, Off With There Heads. With the success I was having booking and promoting shows in the Bismarck/Mandan area came a desire to move to an area with more opportunities to work with venues. So in June 2007 I moved to Minneapolis, MN.
In July 2007 I was offered a volunteer position with the Triple Rock Social Club in Downtown Minneapolis. Through that, I was fortunate to meet lots of people involved in the music scene, that would aide in my success even today. In an attempt to create a name for myself and peers, I came up with the 612 Crew title. This would stand for us representing the Minneapolis area code (612). Shortly after starting with the Triple Rock, I began doing promotion for many other venues. Including, The Belfry Center, Swordland Productions, and The Future Pastor. I also volunteered with Anti-Civ Records. After almost 2 years of living and working in Minneapolis, I decided in April 2009 to move back home to Bismarck.
Upon moving back to Bismarck, I immediately wanted to continue on with the name I had made for myself. I used the same idea of the 612 crew but altering it to the ND area code, 701. Then building on the business that it has become today, 701 crew. From 2009 to present I have created, managed, and organized Bring it Together, and World War Scene. As well as promoting a show for Orwell and Australis at The Post in Mandan. All while volunteering promotion to other local venues. I have since volunteered my time to Make A Change, The Light Club, and S.O.S. Productions. I am currently promoting Bring It Together 2 and am confident that this will be just as large of a success as the last.
Over the course of my career as a promoter, I have booked over 300 bands, and have put together over 70 shows including 10 fests. I truly do this for my love of live, local, and independent music. It is a hobby of mine, and is done strictly in my free time, from my full time job. I appreciate any and all support I can receive from the community to reach out to people who want to come see live music, or just have a good time.
