Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill was founded on the mutual admiration of genuine rock and roll. Fiery blues standards and classic rock covers were the name of the game for these young, yet experienced musicians. Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill did not set out in 2009 with intentions of making waves in the Minnesota rock music scene. Yet with the recent completion of the band first EP and a strong local following in southern Minnesota, that is the road Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill find themselves today.
The city of Mankato, Minnesota and its healthy fondness of live music helped support the growth of Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill. Undoubtedly original covers of rock and roll greats such as Johnny Cash, Bo Diddley, CCR, and the Rolling Stones were found in the band's first performances. After 100+ shows all across the upper Midwest and the steady addition of their own brand of alternative roots-rock original music to the set, Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill are more known for their rowdy and infectious live shows, and have successfully shed the “cover band” nametag.
The songs found on their first EP have the soulful integrity of folk rock legends, the energetic spirit alternative rock giants, and the stripped down sound of a band who’s comfortable in their own skin. Influences set aside, Dr. Lee and Terminally Chill thrive on remaining true to their own unique song writing style and overall musicality. Differentiating themselves from the current 21st century music trends, Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill is a refreshing band with a sound and soul you wont soon forget.
