Ivan and the Wolves look to spearhead a new wave of guitar driven Brit rock by taking the ashes of past generations and igniting them with the modern age. Taking the virtuosity of pure unadulterated musicianship and adding a natural, massive and yet intimate magnetic energy, Ivan and the Wolves have started making a splash in the London music scene.
The trio's self acclaimed Alternative Brit-Grunge takes a British core similar to Supergrass and The Who, throws in the grit and raw edge of the Seattle grunge scene, much like The Meat Puppets, and sprinkles it with their ever expanding musical influences, from Latin grooves, Spanish guitar, disco beats, melodic backing vocals to unconventional chord progressions, all the while layering the three instruments into an effortless yet intricately unique soundscape.
Fully clad in urgent red and black, donning the flag of IVAN, the live shows boast of a natural raw energy, charm and (hypnotic) attitude that have been missing in the British scene for too long and is an experience not to be missed. There is no pretending. The band is Nicko Varey on guitar and vocals, JD on bass and Anders Christian on drums.
