The Crash Years was originally formed by lead vocalist/pianist, Joel Cox in October of 2010. As the months progressed, interest in the project grew and gave way to new members joining. The solo project grew quickly to a full band act with members all dedicating their time to making the music more influential. Strongly influenced by bands such as Dashboard Confessional, The Get Up Kids, The Starting Line, and The Dangerous Summer, The Crash Years has set out with one goal in mind-to change the face of the music scene by bringing back lyrically targeted music that will influence listeners from all genres. They aim to break down the walls that separate the similarities in all people.
The word is spreading quickly and The Crash Years have already played successful shows with artists such as Sparks the Rescue, The Morning Of, Days Away, Ashland High, Johnny Craig, Breathe Electric, Woe, Is Me, and Rookie of the Year. The band has just released a new 6 song EP entitled, “Genuine”. Funded through Kickstarter.com by the fans of the band, the goal of $2,000 dollars was met and fully paid for before the EP had even gone into pre production. The EP has created a stir amongst it’s fans and the amount of new listeners grows consistently. The Crash Years is definitely a band on the rise and one to keep an eye on as they are constantly progressing.
