Trial by Syn was originally formed in 2003 by Hall and Minor. Together, they had wrote the guitar and drum parts for 4 or 5 songs. From there, it was time to seek out a singer. Diehl was found and the 3 piece got to work on writing additional music. Shortly after, the group decided to change their location from the drummer's basement, to what was commonly known as "the bomb shelter" over in Shadyside,Ohio. Over the course of several months, additional members joined on bass and rhythm guitar and more original songs were added to the list. About a month or so later, the group decided to seek other musical interests and went their separate ways.
We now fast forward to the present day. It's a decade later. Hall, Minor and Diehl have all involved themselves in different musical projects over the years, gaining valuable experience along the way. Recently Hall and Minor discussed the music that they used to jam out to. They both agree that it's just simply too good to sit on the shelf and collect dust. Since they never had any full, good recordings of the music, they came up with the idea of getting together and finally recording all the music they've wrote over the years. Diehl was contacted about laying down the vocals on the tracks for the album and the 3 piece got together (at long last) and finally jammed out the tunes again on Sunday April 14th, 2013.
Trial by Syn is the brain child of these 3 talented individuals. When they got together again, after all those years apart, there was some serious nervousness... until that first familiar guitar chord was struck, followed by the pounding rhythm of the drums. Singer Diehl said, "I finally realized this wasn't actual nervousness at all, there is a lot of feeling in the songs that we wrote, and tapping into that emotion pool again is an amazing experience." From there, it flowed like no time had passed at all and the energy was extremely high. This debut album is 10 years in the making. It's a story of brotherhood that is unique in itself. Get ready world. Trial by Syn is alive and well.
